Patchwork of old leather jackets
The Astuccio pouch is made from the remaining pieces of leather that remain in the production of bags, for which old leather jackets are reused. These small pieces come from different coats and are sewn together as patchwork. As a result, each pouch has a different pattern and a different color tone.
The Bel Ragazzo toiletry bag is designed and manufactured with great care and attention to detail by designer Giuseppe Rogato in his studio in Palermo (Sicily). Hand-made Italian craftsmanship!
Pivvicci: italian design upcycle
Pivvicci is the label of the Italian designer and architect Giuseppe Rogato, who lives and works in the Sicilian capital Palermo. From his concerns about the environment and interest in sustainable solutions, he started several years ago with designing bags from recycled and recycled materials.
For this, he collects waste materials all over Sicily. Such as tents, uniforms and blankets from the army, burlap coffee bags and leather and canvas remnants of upholsterers and manufacturers of blinds. But old jeans, denim and leather jackets he buys at flea markets. Any material that otherwise would end up in landfills and is suitable to use in bags, qualify.
The collection consists of several models Pivvicci shoulder bags - both men and women - for work and / or daily use and an overnight bag. For every bag Giuseppe Rogato selects combinations of materials, so that no two copies of the same model are the same. Particularly noteworthy are the details of the original materials used in the bags like trouser and jacket pockets, buckles and buttons.
These designer bags are crafted with the greatest care and precision by local artisans in their own studio Pivvicci. This not only results in beautiful, high quality ecofashion accessories. Giuseppe Rogato also seeks thus to revaluation of the ancient craft and awareness of environmental issues in Sicily.
