Large make-up bag or small toilet bag made of finely woven cotton fabric with woven in pattern
The Prem is a spacious makeup bag. Special because of the colourful dhaka fabric with traditional Nepalese patterns. And by the hinge that ensures that this toilet bag stays open like a doctor's bag.
• Dimensions: 20 x 16 x 11 cm.
• Outside material: 100% cotton
• Lined with water-repellent fabric
• Choose from different colours
• Design: AuraQue
• Fairly produced handicraft from Nepal
The Prem is large enough to transport some small bottles, tubes and makeup. The bag is lined with a water-repellent black fabric and closes with a strong zipper. With leather lace for extra easy opening and closing.
The dhaka items are made by hand in a small artisan workshop in Kathmandu by Navaraj and his team.
The beautiful finely woven dhaka fabric comes from a local distributor in Kathmandu, who purchases these geometric designs from rural weavers in the rural villages in Palpa, Western Nepal. The fabrics are usually made in portions by a weaver, making them difficult to reproduce - which makes each design unique.
Fair trade from Nepal
The bag itself is sewn by hand in a collective workshop in Kathmandu, where 25 women work. This collective is Fair Trade certified by the WFTO and offers employment to disadvantaged women. Various deaf women work with sign language and communicate with the production manager.
Aura Que: English design made in Nepal
AURA QUE creates a range of stylish contemporary accessories manufactured by the Nepal Fair Trade Group to increase ethical production in the developing country of Nepal. Each AURA QUE design is brought to life in a Nepalese factory that employs local people affected by disabilities, providing an income for themselves and their families according to fair trade principles. All products are individually hand crafted, which may result in slight variations. The unique story behind each AURA QUE product enhances its charm!
Designer Laura Queening incorporates local materials wherever possible, such as high quality 100% Buffalo leather that is a by-product of the food industry, traditional woven cloth, handmade brass fittings and banana yarn. The banana fibre yarn is 100% natural, and produced sustainably from the pruned excess outer layers of the Banana tree after each fruit harvest in South Nepal.
